Pisa

Mondolingua is located in the heart of the city, close to Piazza dei Cavalieri and Borgo Stretto, near Lungarni and famous Leaning Tower.
Pisa is a small city, with around 100,000 inhabitants, that hosts the University, the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and the Scuola Normale which are the Italian academic élite institutions mostly for research and the education of graduate students. For this reason everyday life is rich in culture and many students come here from all over the world.
The warm climate all year around makes Pisa the ideal place to spend studying while on holiday.
The international airport Galileo Galilei is the biggest in Tuscany www.raynair.com. The Train Station, located in the center of the city, has excellent links with the most important cities of Europe.

Places to visit
While the Leaning Tower is the most famous image of the city, it is one of many works of art and architecture in the city's Piazza dei Miracoli or (Miracle Square) that also houses the Duomo (the Cathedral), the baptistery and the camposanto (the monumental cemetry).
Not far away from here, there are other interesting sights including Piazza dei Cavalieri and its Palazzo della Carovana with an impressive facade designed by Giorgio Vasari. Walking through Borgo Stretto, where you can see the Gothic-Romanesque church of San Michele in Borgo (990), you arrive at the avenues along the river, Lungarni.
On one site of the river banks you can reach the Museo Nazionale of San Matteo: exhibiting sculptures and paintings from 12th-15th century, on the other side you can admire the small church of Santa Maria della Spina, a really wonderful Gothic building.
Not far from here, there is the church of San Paolo a Ripa d'Arno, founded around 952 and enlarged in the mid 12th century in a style similar to those of Cathedrals. It is annexed to the romanesque Chapel of St. Agatha, with an unusual pyramidal cusp or peak.
Among other things to visit we'd like to recommend not to miss out a visit to the Orto Botanico which is Europe's oldest university botanical garden.
Surroundings
Pisa has the advantage of being surrounded by diverse geographical locations. In a few minutes it is possible to get to the sea, mountains or lakes.
You can visit natural park of San Rossore-Migliarino-Massaciuccoli that stretches along the Tyrrhenian coastline from Viareggio to Livorno (Leghorn) and covers appoximately 23.000 hectarsand. Inside the Park there is a great variety of natural settings ranging from dunes to sandy shores and from hygrophilous forests to marshlands.
Past the city outskirts there are many other places of great interest: the natural thermal pools of San Giuliano Terme and magnificent Chartreuse of Calci are only same examples.
